About a year and a half ago, Dayv embarked on one of the greatest adventures of his life, creating a video game. He taught himself how to use a game engine by reading an 1,000 page book, brainstormed and fleshed out a story revolving around the first manned mission to Jupiter's icy moon Europa, and began building a social media network for which I am rather jealous.
Europa 2022 is Dayv's brainchild. He has always had a great love for space and the universe, which is the landscape of the game. Additionally, Dayv has a great affinity for point-and-click adventure games, and decided this game was the perfect vehicle for creating his own.
Early into the summer, Dayv decided that he needed to create a Kickstarter for his project, as creating video games, even indie ones, can rack up quite a high cost. After working tirelessly for months, Dayv launched his Kickstarter last week to raise $10,000 to create the greatest game he is capable of making.
I am so proud of my husband. Proud of him for constantly striving to gain more knowledge. Proud of him for teaching himself highly complicated skills. Proud of him for creating. And so proud of him for putting himself out there to be judged by others. I just think he's the greatest.
You can check out Dayv's Kickstarter here. Read his bio, all about the game, the amazing reward tiers, and even a little about me and my involvement. And please pass it along to any adventure/horror/video game lovers out there.
