This weekend, we officially turned off the heater and opened the windows. It was glorious! There is nothing more magical than fresh, warm air blowing into your home after nearly seven months of having the windows locked and heater on. It put me in a superb mood, even though I was cooped up in the house for the majority of the weekend, working on a research paper. I could smell and feel the amazing spring air, and that's all that mattered.
On Sunday, it was 80 degrees, so I couldn't help but take two walks during the day. The first walk was mid afternoon with Mina. We strolled around the neighborhood for an hour, and watched our neighbors enjoying the warmth and sunshine, as well. After dinner, Dayv, Mina, and I took a half hour family walk, which is pretty much my favorite thing ever.
I also put my anniversary gift to Dayv on the window ledges in the kitchen. Four year anniversaries are traditionally the year of fruit and flowers. I got him fruit snacks and cacti (I was trying to be clever). I've already spotted the pots I want to transfer them into, but am waiting for either a sale or free shipping.
