From the Weekend | Fire Pit

Monday, May 5, 2014

On Saturday night, we went over to our friends, Matt and Rachel's, house for pizza and the first fire pit of the season.  Although it rained on and off throughout the evening, we were able to get a good hour and a half around the fire.  I love the fire pit- I sit extremely close to it, which makes Dayv really uncomfortable.  I like to say that I love the fire because I'm a Leo (which is a fire sign) and Dayv is scared of it because he's a Pisces (a water sign), but I don't really believe in horoscopes.  It's just funny because Matt and I have the same birthday and he doesn't hesitate before putting his hands in the middle of the fire when adding and moving sticks around.  There is something so relaxing about sitting around the fire and it's truly one of my favorite things to do.  Plus, when you're with two of your closest friends, it makes it even more special.

Happy Monday!

  1. This post brings back a lot of good memories for me. When I was younger my family and neighbors would have a bonfire each Spring to celebrate the ending of winter..... and to get rid of my dads garden waste. We sang songs, roasted marshmallows, and threw scraps of paper into the fire. We wrote things that we hated on the scraps of paper. I remember writing things like ticks and mosquitoes. It was a great tradition. In all those years, the fire department only came once.
