Up the mountains

Last week, I finished my final project a few days ahead of schedule in order to create a one week "summer vacation" for myself in which I would not be in school (my fall semester begins on Thursday).  I decided to use this time off to my advantage and take a little trip to get away.  My grandparents have a vacation house in the Poconos, so on Friday, my parents, their dog, and I took the 2.5 hour trip up to the house.  We stayed until Monday, so it was a nice long weekend of no internet (except for wifi on my phone), not much to do, and very little distraction.  Needless to say, I slept a lot and took a bunch of long walks.  My mom and I also stopped at a roadside farm stand, picked up lots of fresh produce, and made huge delicious grilled veggie dinners.  Additionally, a stay in the Poconos is not complete without a trip to the outlets and, of course, I spent a bit too much money in White House Black Market.  Whatever.  I deserved it.

  2. Good for you sneaking in a mini getaway in the midst of craziness. I could really use escaping from a place without internet.
