My friend Lora was in town for less than 48 hours over Labor Day weekend and we really wanted to take advantage of our short time together and do something fun and relaxing. Lora suggested we drive up to Peace Valley Park, located about 45 minutes away, in Bucks County. The drive was nice and relaxing, but the weather was very hot and humid. Along the way, we stopped at a local store, which was filled to the brim with pastries, local produce, an ice cream and belgian waffle/crepe bar, and spices. It smelled heavenly and I was tempted to stock up on the winter squash they had available, but we just left with a couple water bottles instead.
Our walk in Peace Valley Park was really beautiful. People were out on the water in boats, friends and family were barbecuing, and others were running and biking along the path. Unfortunately, about 40 minutes through our walk, storm clouds rolled in and it began to pour. But, we just kept walking. Once we got back to the car, we realized our plans of grape picking at the local winery was not in the cards and drove home. Lora was so disappointed since she hadn't been grape picking since she was a child and was really looking forward to it. Next year. It was still a lovely afternoon with one of my favorite people in the world and I enjoyed every minute of it.
