Pacifica dream big mascara | Review
I am a very harsh critic of mascara (and all things). If you read my review of the often "holy grail" and highly coveted Better Than Sex mascara, you know I am difficult to impress. However, I was really excited to try Pacifica's new dream big lash extending seven in one mascara, which was included in my Big friendship flirt collection. Would this mascara make me shun my beloved faux lashes and become my go-to lash product?

Pacifica's dream big mascara is "seven in one" and claims it is a lash serum, provides instant length, lash lifting, volumizing, conditioning, with a rich color and two in one brush. I don't know about you, but I think those are a lot of promises for one mascara. One of most innovative aspects of this mascara is the magic wand. By twisting the handle, you can elongate or shorten the length of the brush. The long brush is for length and the short brush is for volume. Theoretically, it eliminates the need to apply two separate mascaras, which is a technique many beauty lovers use.

After using this product for over a week, I am fairly impressed with it. Firstly, I was incredibly skeptical of the magic brush and expected it to be difficult to properly utilize. However, twisting it to the different lengths is a breeze. I find it works best to use the long brush followed immediately by the short brush. The results are longer, thicker lashes that have a nice lift and dark color. One issue I run into with the brush is that due to the large bristles, I found myself often poking my waterline with it. But, I have been more gentle with my application and the accidental poking has basically stopped.

Another aspect of the mascara that I like is the formula. It is clean and not clumpy at all. I am able to utilize the brush to its full potential without getting mascara all over my face. I think a clean application is an aspect of mascara that is incredibly important yet often overlooked. There is nothing worse than doing all of your makeup and then getting mascara all over it.

Overall, I think of this mascara as "your lashes but better". It provides a little length and volume, and coats the lashes in a black formula. It's a good casual, daily mascara that is unassuming and perfect for natural makeup looks. I will continue to play with this mascara and perhaps multiple applications will provide more jaw dropping lashes.

Have you tried Pacifica's new mascara? If so, what did you think?

  2. Thanks for the review! As a contact lens wearer, it seems I'm on a perpetual search for a mascara that gives good coverage but doesn't clump into my eyes. I recently tried 100% Pure's new vegan mascara. At first I liked it, but the longer I have it, the thicker and clumpier it's getting. Plus, it's irritating on my eyes. So I will be making a move elsewhere somewhere soon. It sounds like Pacifica might be a good match for my needs.

  3. This looks like a nice daywear mascara! I will have to try it! So far, I've had pretty good luck with Lily Lolo mascara. I, too, had some trouble with "Better than Sex" mascara. I loved the volume, but I found that it ran after a few hours and gave me the raccoon look haha
