About

About the blog:
The Vegan Chickpea is a vegan lifestyle blog.  It was originally created to exclusively share recipes, but along the way has changed to be more inclusive of my everyday life- thoughts I am having, things I am doing, my relationships, my struggles, my favorite things, and my food.  I also enjoy writing reviews of health and beauty products from companies that are dedicated to promoting a vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainable lifestyle.

The Vegan Chickpea is a blog written by and dedicated to the modern woman who is full of passion, possibilities, dreams, and works really hard to make all of the pieces of her life come together.  And she may also be a bit of a perfectionist.

About the girl:
My name is Caitlin and I live in a little suburb near Philadelphia with a cool dude and a little white pup.  I'm a very passionate person, particularly when it comes to the vegan lifestyle, modern art, aesthetics, brand loyalty, and my every day routine.  My life consists of working full-time, attending graduate school part-time (on the border of full-time), household chores, making food for my husband, and attempting to maintain some sort of social life.  This blog is my refuge and creative outlet.

Some random facts about me include:
-I have been vegan for nine years, since I was 20.  It is the defining characteristic of my life.
-My family is the most important thing in the world to me.
-My undergraduate degree is in Art History.  I have an extra soft spot for Abstract Expressionism.
-I am very particular when it comes to colors, patterns, fonts, and composition.
-I wake up at 5:45 every morning, even on weekends.
-My favorite food is anything with peanuts or peanut butter in it.
-White House Black Market is my happy place.
-I went gluten-free in 2008 as a last resort after being really sick for three months with no diagnosis from doctors.  Immediately all of my symptoms disappeared and I have stayed on this diet ever since.  Do I have Celiac Disease?  Probably.  But I will never submit myself to the torture and problems that accompany my gluten consumption in order to get a proper diagnosis.

If you have any questions, comments, would like to work together*, or just want to say hi, please feel free to leave a comment or send me an email.  They mean the world to me.

(*I love working with companies/individuals that promote a vegan, cruelty-free, eco-friendly, and sustainable lifestyle.  If those beliefs align with you and/or your company, please feel free to reach out.  However, please refrain from sending press releases, information on contests, inquiries about writing guest posts for TVC, or emails that are extremely impersonal and obviously sent to a large group of people.  I will delete them.)
